But lets start at the beginning. Most of you are stuck in the first stage. The Lonely Conflict Stage.
Players who are stuck in this stage sometimes never get out. Here we don't accept
advice because we don't trust anyone to help us and if we can't understand the
concept they are teaching then we will reject it. How do you understand that which
requires training to grasps? I've seen student reject a perfectly good explanation for
missing a shot because he could not deal with it. I once told a girl I could help her
improve her nine ball break and she told me she liked the way she broke now. Those
who are in the lonely conflict cannot help themselves. They are blinded by their
unwillingness to learn or change their mind set.

In my book Focus on Winning I devote many pages to the Four Point to Power. I
share several students who are mired in the first stage and show just how they are
stuck and why they more than likely will never find their way out.

I am an intelligent man who has worked for a long time to develop an understanding
of these four stages. Yet when it comes to my golf game I am stuck in the Lonely
Conflict stage. I have shot the same way for over twenty years. My son in law broke
through my barriers and helped me with my drives. It was great. Then one day I sent
a ball into the woods and reverted right back to the lonely conflict. I think I am going
to be here for the rest of my life.

The key to making your way out is to discover that this game requires a spiritual
experience. You must join with a Higher Power and allow Him/It/She to guide you.
Until you do that you will be alone and in conflict because no one can help you.
When we decide to make that all important change to the next stage we begin to
read books, watch DVDs and take lessons. We do this with an open mind, always
fighting the Lonely Conflict elements that plague us. That is why it takes a warrior to
move into the learning stage. If you are here, I am glad, but I want to caution you.
There is grave danger in the Warrior Learning Stage. You must pass through quickly
with the understanding that knowledge will not pocket balls.  Those who are stuck in
this stage will read books and more books, more DVDs and more lessons and still
stay right where they are. They are waiting for that one bit of knowledge that will
break them to the next level and it never comes because it is not knowledge that
springs you into the third stage.

Some of the most knowledgeable men I have known have not won a tournament.
They can tell you everything about this game yet they cannot play. The danger in the
Warrior Learning Stage is that you could learn the wrong thing, build a faulty mind
set and then you are doomed. I talk about a student who did this and never played
the game again in my book Focus on Winning.
Let's get to the next stage and learn to trust others with our game. Let's move to the Warrior Learning Stage.

After many years of struggle and after mile upon mile I travelled alone, I think I have
finally reached the Champion Wisdom Stage. In this land we operate out of our
instincts. Your trust skills need to be finally tuned. You need to be detached from a
preoccupation with results. You need to be free and operating out of wisdom.

There are many pro's who win tournament in this third stage. They do not dominate
but they do win from time to time.

If you stand at the table wondering what to do you have not reached this stage. You
need to feel freedom making your decision and if it turns out to be the wrong choice
you do not worry about it. You learn from it. Those who fret over dumb moves are
not in this stage as it takes wisdom to move from a mistake and press on towards
excellence.

Some players drift from the third stage to the first stage. I have seen it many times. In
fact, I have seen myself in the lonely conflict struggling to solve a problem all by
myself.  I am seeking to reach the fourth and final stage.
The fourth stage where master meets master and no
introduction is necessary. This is the stage where you
have become the path you are following. You find
contentment, self assurance, always making the right
choices. You travel along this road of life with an ever
powerful companion by your side who guides you. He
guides you because you have the skills to trust and let
go. You are free. There are only a handful of competitors
in this stage. The Enlightened Stage is where I want to
be. That is where I am headed and when we meet each
other on the way no introduction will be necessary. I will
already know you.
I invite you to the third stage. Here we comes to terms with our own instincts and opperate out of wisdom.
FOUR STAGES OF YOUR LIFE'S JOURNEY
ROAD PLAYERS 9-BALL
You must pass through the four stages of pocket billiards in order to stand in the
winner's circle with the cash. For a Road Players 9-Ball graduate it is all about winning.
You will not win if you are not prepared. We win because of who we are. We are not out
to prove anything. Our journey has already been proven. We are here to compete.
While I was there I put together the most complete training manual ever written.
It is 700+ pages and contains everything you would need to become a fine ball
striker. Your stroke will come together when you work your way through this
incredible book. After two years living like a hermit I finally finished the manu-
script and was ready to share it with others. I wanted everyone to have this book
but I knew it must come with specific instructions. In order to gain from this
training manual you must have the strokes and cue ball speed established in your
game or you will waste too much time training. Your training must be specific and
deliberate. So I decided to include this manuscript when students come to The
Monk Training Center. It would be FREE as part of their tuition. That way I would
know you gained from this material and could then move to the next level. I even
included a ten level specific training program so you would be able to consult with
me as you continued your skill development.

In my journey I have learned to trust in my instincts. I learned that it is during the worst of times you learn
the vital things that make a difference. It has always been my belief that I was destined to help others with
this game and my material is sort of inspired by tough times. This period of my game experience was taking
a toll on me.

I rented a canoe and paddled up the Wekiva River. On the way down I met a couple who invited me to their
river cabin. I declined their invitation as I did not want to stray off the path. How bad is that? I had to stay
focused on my game. I could not venture off in some other direction. So I had no life. I would stay the course.
To where? Maybe it was time for me to go to 'Lukenbach Texas' where nobody is feeling any pain.

One last shot at it and I would be done. I’d go down to West Palm Beach and put it all on the line. Put it
together or buy a tent, back pack, good hiking boots and walk all the way around the entire United States.
That was my ultimatum. One hundred days without a day off. One hundred days of specific training. One
hundred days of no life. One hundred days in West Palm Beach. I WOULD MASTER NINE BALL.

It is tough when nothing comes easy and you don’t know how you really feel about anything.  You wonder
what it is all about, the ‘whys’ the ‘ifs’ and what the hell are you doing with no life. But still you press on and
now you face the mountain high. It was then that I realized how hard the game of nine ball is.

Keep in mind, nine ball is not hard when you play players who make a lot of mistakes. It only becomes hard
when you fail and do not get a chance to come back. That is the way this game is when you want to play the
better players.

I dove in to my training and learned many of the secrets of nine ball. If you really want to be a strong nine
ball player then you have chosen the right course for you. I am going to help you lay a foundation so you will
be able to survive the test that is sure to come.

You will be running against the wind when you play nine ball so you need a solid foundation to weather the
storm. You must master the sequence of shots I am laying out for you, if you don’t you will spend eight years
and three girlfriends to uncover the truth about this game.

I give you a series of shots and strokes you MUST HAVE. I will set you up to keep score. In other words,
take action, measure your progress and make adjustment. If you cannot achieve the expected score then you
need to buy a motorcycle or hiking boots.

At my finest hour I decided to give up my game and work with you. I decided to share what others will not do.
I decided to Point the Way for you to reach the winner’s circle and take down the ‘dreamers’ in this game.

I designed THE ROAD PLAYERS NINE BALL PROGRAM SO THAT YOU COULD MASTER THE
GAME OF NINE BALL AND WIN MORE MONEY. HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:
