A champion is measured by his ability to train. "Though you conquer a thousand men a thousand times you are nothing until you conquer self."

I went to a small pool hall in Mobile Alabama and tried to pick up the cue ball for the "no rails" exercise. I did
very well, only missing four shots in a hundred balls on a tough diamond. I think I am in line to do this soon. I
also have been working on the mid term and am not really that close yet. I tried the 13 ball exercise and missed
two shots in four racks. As you read in the yellow box, I really believe in consistent training and try to get my
time in where ever I go. I'll be in Florida on Monday and should be back on the table more often. I want to be
ready for the June one hundred days of training.
THERE ARE THREE TRAINEES WHO HAVE PUT UP FIVE HUNDRED DOLLAR DEPOSITS. THIS IS APRIL AND IT IS TIME
TO SEND IN ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. THEN IN JUNE THE BALANCE OF $3500.00 WILL BE DUE BEFORE YOU CAN
ENTER THE ONE HUNDRED DAYS OF TRAINING.
The Lotus Pro Tour is still a work in progress. A lot of work has been done and I am close to a deal. When this
deal gets done, my players will receive a salary for playing on the tour. It will be no where near what these
members will receive if they make it. I am talking to Shane Van Boeing, Steve Owens, Corey Duell and another
guy from S Dakota. They are very interested and want to join. As they are world class it won't be required that
they take the one hundred days of training. However, just before the US Open they will join us. The deal is not
done yet.
In order to make the grade you will need to PICK UP THE CUE BALL FIVE TIMES.
You can PICK UP THE CUE BALL when you run a hundred balls in pile rocks.
You can PICK UP THE CUE BALL when you run a hundred balls without letting the cue ball touch a rail.
You can PICK UP THE CUE BALL when you run one hundred balls in straight pool.
You can PICK UP THE CUE BALL when you put up sixteen or more twice in the mid term.
You can PICK UP THE CUE BALL when you can do the 13 ball exercise four times without a miss.
Each time you achieve one of the above mentioned goals pick up the cue ball, sign it, date it and store it away in
your private collection. At this time you are not ready to win the US OPEN. You are qualified to enter the one
hundred days of training so you can WIN THE US OPEN. At that time you will become a member of the Pro Tour
and own a full share in the DVD sales returns. Refresh your memory on what the tour is all about. CLICK HERE
At this time Frankie Dow, OK and Harrison Frazier, Alaska along with myself, Steve Rubin and Mike
Regan are training for this tour. I am not hearing from these members so I do not know where they
stand in their skill development.
Dominic Colonero is also training along with us. He is my best master student. The other day he
reported a 75 ball run in straight pool.
You players should do the assignments and try to PICK UP THE CUE BALL once each day and you
should share your strength hope and experience with your team members.
At this time there are no female players considered for this tour.
Do the assignments outlined for you.
I am in talks with Connelly table manufacturers as they have been taken over by a group of men who
seem to have a lot of money. We shall see how it goes.
I am committed to the US Open training. I will do all I can to be ready for that tournament. I will do all I
can to reach the level I need to reach by October. It takes daily, not every other day, but daily training
and a deep personal belief that you can pull it off.

Pile the rocks. Don't tell me about the tournaments you won against C players or who you beat. If you have not PICKED UP THE CUE BALL for one hundred balls without a miss in pile rocks you have done nothing.

I am facing some stuff in Florida (financial) and need to sort that out before I can have confidence in the
consistency of my training program. HOWEVER I move forward and make my plans as if they are already worked
out. That is because I believe in what I am doing. Against all odds I believe I can do this. So i will press forward.
I played very well in the Maxim Tour in North Carolina. I arrived at eleven and did not play my first match until
five. I got tired late and bombed out. Now I am resolved to get in good shape and learn to increase my endurance. I
will enter a diet and exercise program when I get settled in Florida. I do like how I am playing right now.
I ordered thirty red circle cue balls. I was able to get them at a wholesale price. If you would like to get your
six red circle cue balls I can ship them out to you for $54.00 plus shipping. I did not have them engraved.
You can get a felt marker at Office Max which will not rub off and put your inscription on each one. I plan to
pick up four cue balls during my time with Angelina.

I am putting together a team that does not set limits on what they can
achieve. I invite you to become a team member. We are not afraid of
the challenges that lie ahead for us in our collective desire to reach the
championship level. This unique team does is not limited to pool
players. We will be a collection of people who have an innate purpose
and will follow it without regard to our chances for success or failure.
We are who we are and we are The Lotus Team.
The Lotus flower has appeared in legends dating back to ancient times
in the Egyptian culture and is the only plant to fruit and flower
simultaneously. This flower is not afraid of the obstacles of life and
emerges from the depths of a muddy swamp. The Lotus does not shy
away from obstacles and comes from the mud at the bottom of the
pond. How can it be that this flower is willing to push up through the
muck and mud and weeds to blossom above the water and celebrate the
sunshine. The Lotus has 15 or more spreading petals and features
peculiar flat seedcase at its' center.
Nothing of its origin suggests it will emerge victorious and shine for others to see. The Lotus symbolizes the sun the creation and
rebirth. At night this remarkable flower closes and sinks below the surface to rise again when the dawn comes in the morning.
Born from the mud, the muck, among the tangled weeds and underbrush, this flower is unafraid to reach for things out of reach.
It bursts through to daylight and transforms the drab swamp into a paradise of beauty and triumph. The Lotus gives the swamp a
new look, a look of success, a look of prosperity and the look of a winner.
According to one creation myth it was a giant Lotus which first rose out of the watery chaos at the beginning of time. The sun
came out and the Lotus was to give us our first day.
The Lotus gives our team a birth to a new era in this game, the era of success and achievement.
Our connection to The Lotus is that we are cast among the weeds and muck and mud but we don't feel like we are these things.
We know we are not the environment that surrounds us. We have always known that we are different. The mud, the bottom of
the pond the weeds the tangle brush have no affect on us. We push through, rise up, squeeze our way to the top and burst through
to this spender of sunshine that is rightfully ours. When we make our way to the top we transform this game into a thing of
beauty. We show the world that we are not one of the weeds, the mud or tangle brush of the swamp.
The game of pocket billiards is much like the swamp. It is filled with weeds, bugs, tangle brush and mud. These elements reflect
the lower side of this game. Somehow, we, The Lotus group will move our way through this maze of negativity and reach the
sunshine. When we do that, we are the ones who will dominate. We are the ones who will bring the beauty to this game.
When you pass by a swamp you notice that there is nothing that reflects life among the dead weeds, tangle brush and stagnate
water. Then one day you see the Lotus flower that has come out of the mud and suddenly the swamp has a new image. It is alive
with beauty as this flower towers over the weeds and tangle brush. It is the nature of The Lotus to bring sunshine to a harsh
environment. It is the only flower that looks like it does not belong where it is, yet has the essence make everything look so
much better. The Lotus flower brings beauty to the swamp. The entire swamp comes alive when The Lotus flower blooms.
The Lotus is not the weeds and tangle brush. It will never be part of the weeds, the mud and chaos. While the tangle brush wants
to turn the Lotus into one of its own, The Lotus pushes through untouched, just as we will in this game.
The Lotus reaches for things out of reach. It comes form the mud. It faces the weeds and tangle brush and still presses on. When
it comes out of the mud it does not know the sunshine is there. It has never experienced sunshine but because of its unique
nature it feels the need to press upward. In other words, it is pressing upwards into the unknown and once it burst forth it
becomes the dominate centerpiece and by its own nature brings beauty this stagnate pond needs. The Lotus is what makes the
swamp special. The Lotus, for all its courage brings beauty to an otherwise tangled up mess.
You have a choice my friend. You are in the mud. Above the mass of weeds, tangle brush are content to be that way for all
eternity. You are in the mud. Are you a Lotus or are you part of the dead swamp? Will you join the weeds or seek the sunshine.
Your choice to go upwards sets you apart. The idea of going upwards is what makes you The Lotus Flower.
If you decide to be the Lotus then welcome to the team. Together we will travel the journey up through the weeds and together we
will bring the sunshine to this game.
UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Eric went through the tournament of champions without a loss to take first place. This seven year old won nine to six against a great player at two o'clock in the morning. He is determined and incredible. Eric broke and ran four racks during the tournament that only featured money winners from the past season. This is remarkable. I am so proud of Eric. He told me the used his Pre Shot Routine on every single shot. Wow, nice going.

I am inviting each one of you to write a
poem about the Lotus. You are The Lotus.
Share this with each of your team mates.
Here is the poem for the Lotus Flower!
FROM THE START IT SEEMED THE ODDS WERE AGAINST ME, THE DARKNESS, THE DEEP, NO LIGHT TO SEE,
CONTINUOUS, DETERMINED, SET HERE FOR A PURPOSE, HOLDING ON TO LIFE AND MY DESTINY,
AND JUST WHEN I THOUGHT I HAD DONE MY BEST, LIFE PUSHED ME THROUGH INTO EMPTINESS,
FIRST NOTHING, THEN MUD, FAR AWAY FROM THE EARTH,
NOW LIGHT, AND SUN, NO MUCK AROUND,
SHINING THROUGH AS A CHAMPION, THE LOTUS FLOWER!!!

Please note: Not all members of the Lotus family are pool players. Barbara is a Lotus Flower of the
highest level and shares her poem with you. It is a genuine honor to know a fellow Lotus.
I wrote some new things about the tour. Go to THIS LINK
During the next year I will associate with fellow Lotus Flowers and one day I will be surrounded by the strength and power of one who is willing to stand above the weeds and cheer for each other to beautify the swamp. We do not walk this journey alone. We walk together, supporting each other in one cause. You must get this my friend. You must become that courageous Lotus Flower and take on the mud, the weeds and the tangle brush. I do think you should spend some time to think about a poem or expression of your heart on this subject. Thanks to Barbara who got us started.

The Lotus Flower does not know what lies ahead,
yet pushes upward into the unknown.
Just as the Lotus Flower makes it's way through the weeds,
we move past the sharks and poor sports of this game,
untouched by negative elements that come our way.
We do not fully understand what is going on.
We only know we must move upwards.
Work hard my friend, and one day you will burst
through to the sunshine and when you do,
you make the game beautiful again.

Eric followed up his wonderful victory in the Tournament of
Champions with a second place finish the following week. He reached
the finals and lost by one game. In that match, he was down by four
and managed to get hill hill. This is a remarkable feat for an eight year
old boy. "God I love that boy!!"
