| You are a risk taker. Go for it. You are a risk taker. It is your nature or you would not pursue pocket billiards excellence. In this game there are very few "gimmies" as we are always asked to make the critical shot during the game. Along the way we learned the fine art of the safety game and this spells doom for some of us. It is not in our nature to lay up. We want to win, go for it, sink the nine, run out every time we come to the table. I think if that is your mind set you will win more games you were suppose to lose then lose more games you were suppose to win. In other words, it sets up a mind set of the defensive nature and you will not pocket a ball with a safety. When we hold back we leave our own personality of risk taking, which is our strength. In other words, we reduce the times we go for the win. This goes against our very nature. We came into this game as a risk taker. You will lose a few games when you take risk. You will win a few games when you take risk. I once had a guy run seven racks on me and three times he sent clumps flying in every direction looking for luck. He got it because he took the risk. You decide. Are you a gunslinger? Do you feel better when you go for it? If this is true about you, then I want you to go for everything for the next thirty days. Every single time you go to the table I want you to attempt a run out. When you walk to the table you are focused on winning this game at this turn. It is time you found out how this works. Go for it. Take a chance. Go for some luck. Try to run out every single time you come to the table. Do not second guess yourself when it does not work. Note how many times you steal a game from your opponent. I call these stolen games "rippers". I have gone for tough shots and made them. I was more surprised by my success than my opponent. Ride the nine. Send the cue ball into a clump just for the luck of the role. If you can get four balls rolling, one is going to find a pocket. Sometimes we go for a tough shot and then finish our run out after we make it. You will be surprised by how good you can play this game when you allow yourself to use your talent.
